When my disabled daughter endures bouts of severe pain, it feels as though time and the universe stand still and nothing else matters but her suffering and my determination to help her. Every ounce of my being is focused on her. Her pain becomes my own in a profound connection as I try to transmute her pain, to shoulder it somehow.
In these moments, my world narrows to the singular focus of alleviating her suffering. As I watch her struggle, my heart enters a space where love becomes a beacon in the darkness, striving to conquer her agony. This is when I am both mother and warrior, and together, we navigate the storm, until her smile rises again.
Dear beautiful TracySis, you inspire me so much. Such a wonderful momma you are! Your nurturing loving strength is so very powerful and pure. All will be well.
